Spring is definitely here. Broad beans have been up for two weeks or so and the lambs are bounding around the field!
Farmer Jim has nearly finished the lambing and is well into the calving.
When the weather has been dry enough to dry the ground, he will get the corn in and this will provide bedding and feed for the cattle next winter.
The pigs – Delia and Nigella – are doing very well as well, although when this photograph was taken they were cuddled up fast asleep; definitely not at all interested in posing for the camera!
We have also started getting the first salad leaves of the year – both our own and local. They are now available in the shop.
Unfortunately, Bradleys have discontinued their organic milk. However, we are delighted to now be stocking organic milk from Roskillys.
We also have a beautiful selection of Easter Eggs in stock from Trenance Chocolate. From chocolate bunnies to traditional Easter eggs there is something for everyone! The eggs are also available with personalised messages on them - please ask for details.
There is even a 10kg egg available, which apparently stands at nearly 3 feet high! We dare you!
A big thanks from the Air Ambulance – the last collection yielded £35.01.
We were thrilled to be named as the first Western Morning News Farm Shop of the Month in February.
A date for the diary – on Saturday 4th April we will be holding a ‘meet the producer and taster day’. In attendance will be:
Casa Maria: cooking with her delicious salsas
Table B’Hote: serving samples of their Chilli Con Carne and Cottage Pie mixes
Polgoon Vineyard: with their excellent grape juice.
Please note: on Friday 13th March we will be closed from 11am.
Apologies for this inconvenience – we will be open as usual the following day - Saturday 14th March.
New products now on sale:
