Happy New Year!
We trust you had a peaceful and relaxing festive period.

As always our Christmas run-up was hectic, but this year, to ensure we had enough to be getting on with, Georgie gave birth to Lleyton Paul Warman on 21st December. It was like Christmas had come early!

Mummy and Lleyton are both doing well.

Whilst we embrace a new member of the family, we are sad to say goodbye to our Kitchen Assistant, Jill. We wish her all the very best with her new life and we thank her for all her efforts during her time here.

During the Christmas period we were involved in a piece for BBC Radio Cornwall that was about whether to have goose for Christmas rather than the traditional turkey. If you heard the show or have any feelings on the matter please let us know!

We were also approached by the Western Morning News for comment on the news that Asda had imported turkeys from Brazil in time for Christmas.

It comes as no surprise that supermarkets scour the world to source produce that can be found locally of an equal or higher quality. The whys and wherefores have been discussed many times before.
However, what was particularly striking about this story was that the whole birds failed a taste test and were subsequently taken off sale.
As a producer reading the article, my question was; were the farmers in Brazil paid for the thousands of birds that were taken off sale due to a problem with the baste?

If you did not read the article, it can be found in the Media section of our website.

Unfortunately, on three separate occasions since the new year, gates to our fields with sheep in them have been opened by (a) member(s) of the public and left open.
Farmer Keith’s first job of the new year was to collect a herd of sheep that had escaped through a gate that had been opened on New Years Eve night. The sheep got out and found their way to the main road (A392). Two were hit by cars and killed and one was badly wounded.
It was fortunate that an accident involving cars and their passengers didn’t occur.

We have a new supplier of milk – Trewithen. We will continue to sell Roskilly’s milk but as Trewithen milk is neither Jersey or organic, it is cheaper.

We are aware that access to the shop from the main road has been difficult in the icy weather. However, please note that the shop will remain open throughout the snowy period. If in doubt, please call us ahead of your trip.

The Perfect Venue

We have a field that we let for marquee events such as weddings. The view is gorgeous and we can even cater for the event! A day to remember for sure!
